Counseling for the Wild and the Wandering

Where wandering meets wonder.

Individual and family counseling for adults, teens, the LGBTQ+ community, active-duty military and military families, and those navigating the emotional impact of addiction, divorce, separation, and other family legal stressors — offered in person in the Pensacola area and by telehealth in Florida.

But why?

Because in a world where everyone seems to have expectations of you, I want to give you a place where you can put everyone else on the back burner for a little while and focus on yourself.

So often, we put ourselves on the back burner because someone has to handle life. Someone has to figure out what’s for dinner every night. Someone has to make sure the kids get to school on time. Someone has to make sure the bills get paid. Someone has to keep everything moving.

And a lot of the time, that someone is you.

Whether you’re in a marriage, living the single life for the first time (or the first time in a long time), learning how to be a single parent, navigating a divorce or other major life transition, or simply trying to figure out who you are in the middle of everything life has handed you, there is a place for you here.

I’ve walked some hard roads of my own. I’ve been down in the trenches, not knowing what my life would look like in one year, much less five. I’ve felt hopeless and helpless. I’ve known what it feels like to wonder how you’re supposed to keep moving forward when you don’t even know what “forward” is supposed to look like.

But I’ve also learned how much can change when you keep going.

Why counseling is important

As Taylor Swift puts it, “You’re on your own, kid. You always have been.”

While I don’t think that means you have to walk through everything alone, I think it speaks to something powerful: the ability to create change and the perseverance it takes to keep going have always been within you.

You are capable of carrying yourself forward, even when life looks nothing like you thought it would and even when you feel completely alone.

Sometimes, we just need a little help recognizing the strength that was there all along.

You can heal. You can grow. You can rebuild. You can learn who you are again, or maybe discover who you are for the first time.

And you can persevere, even when your circumstances tell you otherwise.

After all, you’ve made it through everything that brought you to this moment.

Let this be the place where, for once, you don’t have to take care of everyone else. You get to focus on you.
